Die way participants dial into the conference depends on the conference model.

  • The model No PIN uses one or more service numbers for participants to dial into a single or multi-room conference. The role of the participants depends on the service number they dial.
  • The model Free PIN uses the service number to define the role of participants.
  • The model PIN Management uses the PIN to define the conference room and the role of the participants. The PINs must be pre-configured for this type of conference.

Depending on the role, the dial-in process can differ:

Role

Dial-In

Manager

The dial-in of the manager is required to start the conference, if the conference has a
lobby.

Presenter

Presenters dial into the conference and do not enter the lobby.

Speaker

Speakers (a normal participant) dial into the lobby (if one is configured), until the
conference is started. If the conference has already started, they can immediately participate.

Listener

Listeners (participants without speaking rights) dial into the lobby (if one is configured), until
the conference is started. If the conference has already started, they can immediately listen.

DTMF codes can be used depending on the participants role to activate various functions. It is advisable to inform participants of these functions in advance. This document and the online help contain the conference codes that can be used.
